There are two recordings in the room where guests will prepare for a future enactment - it could be a sleep cave, a videoscape, a hypnosis session, a performance. This rehearsal for the future could entail yet another rehearsal. But for today’s practice, we are ready. ‘Hello Marcos, I read up on Aikido – an art form of self-defense that also keeps one’s attacker from injury. It sounds like defense without a subject – a transmission of energy from one to the other. The Egyptian sleep cave you mentioned reminds me of Shikinen Sengu. Every twenty years, Ise Jingu is relocated and rebuilt. All the divine spirits move to the new site, just a stone’s throw away. Imagine the weight of collective consciousness stirring and stretching - a silhouette moving – as if composed of dots, all connected and shaped like feathers or tornadoes. Perhaps it has a heavy, misty bottom that could be smashed or melted while flowing liquid dissipates. Maybe it absorbs light too. Can we shift the core of collective consciousness a few steps away? I believe there will be a Shikinen Sengu in our sleep cave. Perhaps when being moved, the collective mind will delightfully collapse, or maybe it is willing to go to another, almost identical place.
